Notorious property broker Noor Ahmed, who conned several locals of crores of rupees with a promise to give them homes on a long lease, has been arrested in a joint operation by Goa Crime Branch, Nepal and Bihar police. The conman was nabbed from the India-Nepal border while he was trying to cross over in a bid to evade arrest.
The Economic Offenses Cell (EOC) has registered First Information Reports (FIRs) against him while around 70 complaints against Noor and his wife Nahir are under scrutiny.
Superintendent of Police (CB) Nidhin Valsan said that Noor, a native of Bihar and living in Goa for nine years, lured gullible locals with a deal to own flats on a long lease. He ensured that the original flat owners and his victims never meet in person.
