CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Though the weather turned cooler — somewhat — in October, new apartment construction across the Charlotte region heated up.

In NoDa, for instance, Atlanta developer Wood Partners got underway last month on its Alta Filament apartment development on North Davidson Street, between East 21st and 22nd streets. It’ll add 352 one-, two- and three-bedroom units at that 4-acre site, which formerly housed Southeast Lighting.

In South End, RangeWater Real Estate and equity partner ParkProperty Capital broke ground on The Raven at Tremont, at 536 W. Tremont Ave. That project will include 261 one- and two-bedroom apartments.

Elsewhere in Charlotte, Redwood Living Inc. began work in October on yet another single-story apartment project in the local market — this one in the Highland Creek area — and Crescent Communities will start construction on its 311-unit apartment development in University City on Nov. 4.
