Airfare scams can leave you grounded — Scam Guards

As more people are vaccinated against COVID-19, reluctance to travel is going down and desire is going up.

That’s great news for the travel industry and vacationers. Unfortunately, it’s the same for scammers. The Better Business Bureau has issued a scam alert to watch out for airfare scams. 

BBB Scam Tracker is receiving reports of con artists creating fake airline ticket booking sites or customer service numbers. 

This is how the scam works. While doing your online search for cheap flights, you come across what seems like a great deal with a major airline. You book the flight – either through that website or by calling a customer service number – you make the purchase and you’re emailed a confirmation. But when you look closely at the email you realize you never actually received your ticket.
