CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Six reports have come into the Casper Police Department over the last two weeks about a scam targeted towards national chains and local businesses.
Rebekah Ladd, the public information officer, said scammers claiming to be from cooperate call during busy parts of the day and ask for money from the business or for employees to go out and buy gift cards.
Ladd said employers should make employees aware of this scam and report it if they get the call. “It’s important for business owners to educate their employees and for people to know if they question the call at all it’s probably a scam,” Ladd said.
Ladd added there was a similar scam that was going around the community at this time last year.
