The jury trial date of September 7 was set in a federal proceeding of a Chestertownship man accused of a new coronavirus bailout fraud.
According to court records, 49-year-old Robert Bearden acquitted three wire frauds and one government fund theft in a July 20 prosecution. Bearden has been charged in the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
Bearden was indicted earlier this month and accused of devising a plan to fraudulently obtain an economic injury and disaster loan guaranteed by the US Small Business Administration under the Corona Virus Assistance, Relief and Economic Security Act. The indictment confirms a loan of approximately $ 60,000.
