âWe’ve actually been looking since I found out I was pregnant,â Jill Steffen, a Sioux Falls home buyer, said.
That pregnancy has now grown into her 1-year-old daughter.
âThat’s actually how long it took us to find the right home,â Steffen said.
Home buying is so competitive now that anyone looking has to plan ahead, down to their maximum offer.
With more young buyers competing with the trend of suburban growth all around the city, it’s harder than in years before to even get an offer in. And with the fall school season approaching, home buying is likely about to ramp up again after a July slowdown, according to industry experts.
