The Irish public is being urged to be vigilant as scammers continue to target people with a number of elaborate scams.
Gardai are warning that fraudsters pretending to be from delivery companies are attempting to part people with their personal information and cash in a scam doing the rounds.
They have received a number of reports in recent days from people who have received phone calls from fraudsters purporting to be from Amazon.
These people will “attempt to trick unsuspecting shoppers to part with sensitive information”, gardai warned, as they issued advice to the public on what to do if they receive such a call.
