This is in response to “Be careful when choosing sources of information” (Reading Eagle, Jan. 10). Although I agree with the letter’s sentiment that everyone should turn off the network news and spend more time doing things they enjoy, I can’t agree that Factcheck.org is a more reliable alternative than any of the rest.
Factcheck.org is largely funded by the Annenberg Foundation, a philanthropic foundation that performs activism for a variety of left-wing causes and has proudly featured President Barack Obama front and center on its website. Factcheck.org is also funded by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, whose board is made up solely of academics and is funded in part by Facebook and Google.
Though the Reading Eagle is a great source for local news, sadly, it is hardly an unbiased news source for world politics. Though Berks County leans right, the majority of political news in the newspaper comes…
