Your humble servant was fascinated by President Joe Biden’s “declaration of war” against “white supremacy.” I assume by that he meant he was going to declare war on racism. That is, he was going to fight against any form of hating human beings because of their race or ethnicity, or at least that’s what I took him to mean. Any other reading would make Biden himself a racist. But, obviously, and sadly, Mr. Biden is in no way anti-racism. Far from it. In fact, he’s only against some forms of racism. For a cruel example, Mr. Biden recently campaigned hard for the winning Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate from Georgia, a black man named Rev. Raphael Warnock. But Rev. Warnock is a pal and explicit admirer of “Minister” Louis Farrakhan. Rev. Farrakhan is the head of a black Muslim sect in these United States called “The Nation of Islam,” which has hundreds of thousands of adherents. As far as I can tell, Rev. Farrakhan is the most vicious, unequivocal Jew-hater in the United States. He is possibly the most explicit Jew-hater in the history of the United States. You have to see and hear him to believe this
LONDON: Police in London said on Friday that they have broken up a wedding attended by 400 people - despite a nationwide lockdown that bars households from mixing. The venue was a school whose principal died from the coronavirus last year. The Metropolitan Police force said officers found hundreds of people packed into the north London school with blacked-out windows on Thursday night. The force said that "following enquiries it was established that the group had gathered at the location for a wedding."Weddings are allowed only in "exceptional circumstances" -- such as one partner being dangerously ill -- and with a maximum of six people attending.Police said the organizer could face a 10,000-pound ($13,600) fine, Many guests fled as police arrived, but five people who attended received 200-pound fines. The Yesodey Hatorah Senior Girls' School, a state-funded Orthodox Jewish high school, said in a statement that it was "absolutely horrified about last night's event and condemn(s) it in the strongest possible terms."The school said its hall had been leased to an outside organization and "we had no knowledge that the wedding was taking place."U.K. Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis condemned the rule-breaking event. He tweeted: "At a time when we are all making such great
CARACAS: With the clock winding down on his term, US President Donald Trump shielded tens of thousands of Venezuelan migrants from deportation Tuesday night, rewarding Venezuelan exiles who have been among his most loyal supporters and who fear losing the same privileged access to the White House during the Biden administration.Trump signed an executive order deferring for 18 months the removal of more than 145,000 Venezuelans who were at risk of being sent back to their crisis-wracked homeland. He cited the "deteriorative condition" within Venezuela that constitutes a national security threat as the basis for his decision."America remains a beacon of hope and freedom for many, and now eligible Venezuelan nationals in the U.S. will receive much-needed temporary immigration relief," Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican of Florida, said in a statement praising the decision. The last-minute reprieve - in sharp contrast to Trump's hardline immigration policies the past four years - capped a busy final day in office that also saw Trump issue a sweeping new round of financial sanctions targeting the alleged front man of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and tighten controls to keep spying technology out of the hands of the Venezuelan military. But ahead of Joe Biden's inauguration Wednesday,
