Samsung remained the world’s second-largest tablet computer vendor in the first quarter of the year, a report has showed, amid the market’s robust growth driven by the stay-at-home economy.
The South Korean giant logged a market share of 20 percent in the January-March period, after shipping 8 million Galaxy Tab tablets, up 60.8 percent from a year ago, according to market researcher International Data Corp. (IDC).
Apple defended its top position with a 31.7 percent share as its iPad shipments jumped 64.3 percent on-year to 12.7 million units in the first quarter. Lenovo came in third with a 9.4 percent share followed by Amazon.com with an 8.7 percent share.
