Savannah business prepares for first St. Patrick’s Day


SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Less than two weeks away until the return of Savannah’s biggest celebration of the year. St. Patrick’s Day in the Hostess City is back with the annual parade and festival.

This year, the to-go cup zone for the St. Patrick’s Day festival in Savannah has expanded. It starts at the Savannah River and stretches all the way to Victory Drive.

Hop Atomica sits right on E. 39th Street. It’s a more residential part of town, so staff here say to be in the to-go cup zone probably means more foot traffic.

Hop Atomica opened in 2020, so being included in the to-go cup zone isn’t the only first for them this year. It’s also their first official St. Patrick’s Day as a business and they say they’re prepared for anything.

Bar Manager Sean Whaley says there are a lot of Airbnbs around the restaurant, so the to-go cup zone means people can grab a drink and go on with their day or end the night with a nightcap.
