South Delta Crime Beat: Delta resident scammed more than $8,000 on religious dating website

The following are some of the calls Delta police responded to in the previous week:

Tsawwassen

*Sept. 21, 10:17 a.m., location withheld: Complainant contacted police to advise they had been the victim of an online fraud for the past nine months. The victim had sent a total of $8,700 to a person they had met on a religious dating website. The funds were sent through wire transfer, gift cards and e-transfers.
